ACCESS TO THE FOOD, BEVERAGES, PROCESSING, PACKAGING AND TECHNOLOGY INDUSTRY IN UGANDA
Uganda's largest upcoming Food, Beverages, Processing, Packaging and Technology International Exhibition, FoodPro Uganda taking place from 21 - 23 November, 2024 at UMA Show Grounds Lugogo, Kampala, Uganda.
The exhibition will be the gateway to the East African Business Community in Uganda. It is the premier upcoming trade exhibition in the East Africa Region in its sector. The event will be hosting Food Professionals, Retailers, Distributors, Food Processors & Packers, Importers & Exporters, Decision Makers and Technologists of the East African Region in Uganda. Exhibitors from around various countries will be participating in this exhibition looking to explore the untapped potential of the East Africa Market.
The expo is supported by Uganda Manufacturers Association (UMA) and Uganda Seed Trade Association (USTA).
UGANDA:
• Uganda is the largest growing economy in the East Africa Region.
• 97% of Uganda's exports in Africa are to countries in the EAC and COMESA regions. Uganda has seen an increase of 20% in the total imports in recent years.
• The main traditional cash crops of Uganda include Coffee, Tea, Cotton. Ugandas non-food imports consist of tallow and machinery.
• The highest food imports consist of wheat, rice, barley, sugar, maize and milk.
• Food and drink is a key sector in Uganda’s economy with agriculture accounting for 21% of the GDP, responsible for about 46% of total export earnings and employing over 65% of the population.
• A good climate, favourable arable land and an abundance of water bodies means that Uganda has the potential to become the bread basket of East and Central Africa.
