AFRICA'S PRIME SOLAR ENERGY EXPO
The overwhelming response from the Solar Industry at Solar Expo Africa 2017 has encouraged Expogroup to increase the exhibiting space by 30% in 2023.
Rwanda offers tremendous opportunities to suppliers worldwide, having among the strongest solar resources in the world. In particular, the region offers excellent potential for concentrated solar power (CSP) and concentrated photovoltaic (CPV) systems. It is generally characterized by a savannah climate and its geographical location endows it with sufficient solar radiation intensity approximately equal to 5kWh/m2/day and peak sun hours of approximately 5 hours per day.
The Government of Rwanda has identified the development of indigenous fuel sources, specifically renewable energy sources, as key to ambitious plans for economic growth. As one of the fastest-growing economies in Africa, importers and distributers of solar technology report a sharp increase in the demand for reliable solar technologies meet the electrification goals. Rwanda’s population is growing fast and access to affordable, clean power is vital to improving living standards and developing the country’s economic potential in the future.
